Synopsis:

Acoustic Punk

And the Reason Why It Never Happened

Author: Gary Marks

In this satire of the music industry, David Allington is the son of a politician, a record producer of questionable success, and a man whose life is falling apart like a bad drum track.

Assigned to produce an incompetent punk band called The Puks, David finds himself trying to appease record company executives while persuading a punk magazine writer named Tara chance after chance.

Filled with enough bad decisions to destroy an entire recording industry, punk singer Robbie Zone, David, and Tara traverse the cavernous gap between who musicians are, and who they imagine themselves to be.

David plays his part, as he tries to turn everyone he meets into who he wants them to be, including Tara. Isn't that what a music producer is supposed to do?

Acoustic Punk as a new style of music is an idea ahead of its time.

The idea also leads to a story meant for anyone who has ever chased a dream, lost their way, failed at everythung they tried, and somehow ended up in a better place than when they started.
